8th grade art students had the opportunity to travel to our nation's capital and visit the art museums! While there, they had to select one work of art that they connected with, and gather the title of the piece and the artist's name. Their selection will be used later this year as inspiration for a piece of their own. Here are a few snapshots from the fun day! Students are working on observation drawings with a focus on creating value. 2D students explored the work of Jackson Pollock and created large scale action paintings- FUN! Our first journals are completed and we will be gearing up for second one soon. Look for eighth grade value work and portraits to be here soon!

Welcome Hillyard Artists!
I am excited for this school year! I look forward to working with and getting to know my art students. As we begin our journey together this year we look for your best efforts each day. Only through practice do we gain skill and grow!
