Morphed Mash-Ups

This project was a new one for us, but proved to be really fun!  The goal was to take two unrelated things and combine them, or morph them, seamlessly together into one new hybrid thing.  The second objective was to use value and/or color to make the surface covering believable.  To begin, students found pictures in magazines and created a collage of their new mash-up.  They then made notes about how this new thing would function, where it would live, the size, and practiced the surface covering.  Their final project was to create a believable drawing of their new morphed mash-up and to add an environment if time allowed. These will definitely make the viewers do a double take when they walk by!
