After school last week, Mrs. Taylor and myself had a great time working with 5 volunteers to participate in making art for an art show that we were invited to participate in. Each student chose a flower that grows here in the Shenandoah Valley and used the medium of their choice to produce a work that has been entered into the show. Shenandoah National Park's new "Youth Art in the Park" contest will be part of this year's Wildflower Weekend, May 9-10, 2015.
Teaching the young artists at Hillyard is a truly rewarding and life-giving experience. I am continually amazed by the amazing work my students produce and I am sure you will be too! Please visit often :)
Teaching art is my passion and my students are the reason I love what I do! What a privilege to work with our young artists and witness their excitement and growth throughout the year! I'm looking forward to starting this year because of the enthusiasm expressed by students and parents alike at our open house!
Welcome Hillyard Artists!
We are excited at the start of this school year! We look forward to working with and getting to know our students. As we begin our journey together this year we look for your best efforts each day. Only through practice
